It's Official

Well Kind of… I have my official Staff badge with picture. I’ve been teaching three classes this week. I start taking over the other classes in a couple weeks. It’s a rollercoaster! Some things go well and some things fall flat. I’m learning more everyday about myself and what kind of teacher I want to be. So far the kids are great and I only have one who really pushes all the limits; I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from this student. (Bonnie AKA Mrs. Davaz to the students)

Back to School

Yesterday I fought the crowds to pick up a few last minute school supplies. Today was the first day of my full time student teaching. I will be teaching (on and off) from now until December. After this I will have one quarter left until I graduate and get my teaching certificate (March). It is pretty exciting to be this close. I know I will be very busy and the qaurter will go by so fast. This is the long way of saying there might be very few posts between now and December, but we will do our best to keep everyone updated. A Year of Memories Together

Our first year together has gone by so quickly, Nathan said “we should be able to knock out another 50 of these, no problem.” I know he’s right. We still love each other like the day we got married. Everywhere we go we hear “you guys must be newly weds” which always just makes us smile and gush even more. As part of celebrating our anniversary we went on a picnic to the park where we were married. We picked out cheeses, crackers, and fruit together. I like to try fancy cheeses, so we got some Gouda, goat cheese, Jamaican pepper, and some “just jack.” Nathan likes more traditional cheeses, so we also had pepper jack and cheddar. The crackers were also fun flavors (rosemary or garlic herb). We brought along some stuff for sandwiches too. Of course we had to have something for a toast, sparkling cider. After walking around for about five minutes, we found the perfect spot to sit. Nathan demonstrated his love by trying my fancy cheeses. After we finished eating we laid back and did some cloud watching. A half hour or so had passed when we started feeling drops of rain. We quickly packed it up and headed home before Mother Nature could rain out our picnic and anniversary celebration.








On Monday (our actual anniversary) we went to dinner in Bellevue at a very nice steak house, Daniel’s Broiler. My friend from work called the reservation in for me and told them we were celebrating our first anniversary and asked them to make it really special for us. They took good care of us and put us right by the window. We had a great view of Seattle. We could even see the top of the Space Needle. They also provided a complimentary dessert for us and the manager came out to wish us happy anniversary. We felt like VIPs.





We also went to dinner with Dennis, Nana, and Bill as a joint celebration of our anniversary and Dennis's birthday. We went to Joey's in Bellevue. The food is very good and I recommend going if you have the chance.

Traditions, Traditions, Traditions. Of course we had to cut our cake top. After a year we were surprised how well the cake held up. Thanks again to my friend Natalie for a beautiful cake!
